Harrison and family stayed at Napa Soda Springs, a resort perched above Silverado Trail between Napa and Yountville. The resort owners, Colonel John P. Jackson and his wife, had invited the Harrison family to spend the Easter holiday weekend at their spa. Jackson and Harrison were fellow law school alums, Republicans and friends.
